Neon Abyss 2 Blackdog Progression: Hub Growth & Unlocks

Do not treat Blackdog Level, Blackdog Patch, and the Black Dog Bar as one progression ladder. Steam records Blackdog Level achievement milestones. The current-build item reference separately maps rank tasks to item unlocks. Veewo’s Weapon Reforge notice describes Patch charges, while its Wonder Flow notice describes the Bar’s setting. The reviewed sources do not say that Patch charges or the Bar determine Blackdog Level rewards.

Steam’s official achievement list records five Blackdog Level thresholds. These are achievement conditions, not a level cap or a complete reward table.

Steam separately lists Pass Level 1 through Pass Level 7 for run-level clears. The names distinguish the achievement conditions, but do not explain how Blackdog Level rises. The 1.0 launch notice says Steam achievements were added and previously satisfied conditions should unlock automatically.

Veewo’s March 5, 2026 Weapon Reforge announcement describes the Patch system as charge-based:

• Defeating a boss earns 1 Patch charge.
• Spending 3 charges lets you take a Patch.
• A failed run grants the 3 required charges.
• A run with a Patch active earns no charges.

These are the rules stated in that dated update. The 1.0 announcement reviewed here does not restate them. The notice explains charge earning and use, not a Blackdog Level reward table.

Veewo’s June 14, 2026 Wonder Flow update introduced the relocated Black Dog Bar, describing it as moved to a remote desert area and hidden beneath the dunes to evade the Titan Group’s investigation. The 1.0 notes refer to returning to the bar after a boss-result transition, placing it apart from the levels cleared during an Abyss run. This setting detail does not establish a Blackdog Level reward or unlock.

The sources reviewed do not give the Blackdog Level XP formula or maximum level, and the seven CapyDB task records may not be a complete list of level-linked content. Steam’s level-50 achievement proves that level 50 is a threshold, not a cap. Treat the item table above as a game-file-derived reference to named unlock tasks, not as an official or exhaustive reward schedule.
